Highlighted Events: April 29th – May 5th

This week is shaping up to be another gorgeous week in Austin. There are some great events going on this week like our first HalfPastNow Happy Hour at the Brew Exchange! We know that you may be best friends with your couch, but it may be time to reconsider that relationship, so you can check out some of our suggested events for the week.

Best Food Specials/Happy Hours of the Week:
HPN Happy Hour
Help us celebrate the launch of our “Austin on the Rocks- Happiest Happy Hours” series with a night of networking and social libations! As the market crashes on great brews and beer cocktails your early evening will be anything but a downturn. The Brew Exchange is graciously helping HPN host the first of many great Happy hours to come. See you there!

Trailer Food Tuesday
Dancing, music, art and most of all, Austin’s beloved trailer food! Be sure to check this event out at The Long Center for Performing Arts! This only happens the last Tuesday of the month, so don’t miss out. Can’t make it this Tuesday? This event happens once a month until October and the vendors change each month.

Best Music of The Week:
Parlotones with Dinner & a Suit at Stubb’s BBQ
Spend your Monday night with an indie rock band from South Africa and a pop rock band from Tennessee. Together these two groups are playing more than 30 shows for the Shake It Up Tour.

Floyd, Darling and the Wanderes at Hole in the Wall
This great local folk rock duo plays shows all over town, but they hold a special night at Hole in the Wall every Wednesday with various other acts. This week they’re playing with another local folk rock group, The Wanderes. If you haven’t checked out either of these bands, Hole in the Wall, or Top Chef Paul Qui’s East Side King we highly recommend making this adventure.

Miscellaneous Adventures:

Austin Historic Walking Tours
There are a few ways to take this tour. On Saturdays the tour departs from the South Entrance of the Capitol and goes through the Bremond Block Historic District. Visit a collection of 11 historic homes. On Tuesdays and Thursdays-Sundays, the tour highlights the 10-block Congress Avenue and nine-block Sixth Street areas. Learn about 19th century buildings and see just how big the city has grown. It’s a great way for children and anyone who’s interested in learning more about some iconic downtown Austin features.
