Halfpastnow would like to present highlighted weekly findings! These are events our team has chosen to represent a few of the more coveted or loved finds during the week.
For April 15-21st we’ve put together the following suggestions:
Best Music of The Week:
The Lumineers at ACL (Moody Theatre)
Who doesn’t love The Lumineers? They will be doing a live taping along with Shovels and Rope on Tuesday, April 16 at 7pm. Having the early midweek blues? Check out the band behind “Ho Hey” and “Stubborn Love.” Added bonus: you’ll get to enjoy the Austin City Limits stage.
Youngblood Hawke at The Parish
The event starts at 8pm on Friday April 19th. The $13 cover is nothing compared to the adventure you’re about to see. This incredible band got a great kickstart at SXSW. They have a fresh sound that brings a really hip and funky edge to their alternative genre. This is a guaranteed great up and coming band to check out this week.
Best Nom’s of the Week:
Two Buck Tuesday at Whole Foods
Check out the Whole Food’s off Lamar from 4pm-7pm for the happiest happy hour on Tuesday. Whole Food’s will be serving $2 appetizers, desserts, oh and a little vino. If you are looking to wine down on Tuesday for a great price, Whole Foods is our suggested Happy Hour.
Summer Sangria at Opa!
Summertime is just around the corner in Austin. What pairs with such a hot season? Some sangria! From Monday to Saturday between 3pm and 7pm Opa! serves 1/2 off wine, $2.50 glasses of sangria, as well as other happy hour deals. If you love sangria as much as we do, definitely head over to Opa!
Flee Market at the Burnet Road Market
If you are feeling as thrifty as Macklemore than we suggest to head over to the Burnet Road Market every Saturday at 9am to find your own ‘come up.’ With the beautiful weather, this weekend will be a great time to do a little thrift shopping. Local artisans from Austin along with great music and food will also be there. It’s a great place to check out some local Austin shopping!
Aveda Presents: Rock the Catwalk for Clean Water at Mohawk
To end the week we highly suggest that you check out Mohawk on Sunday (April 21) at 7pm for Rock the Catwalk for Clean Water. Tickets are $11.54 benefitting The Gulf Restoration Network and the Lower Mississippi Riverkeeper clean water efforts. Along with the fashion show there will be live music performances by KP and the Boom Boom as well as a silent auction. Attend Mohawk’s fashion show and support a great cause while you’re there.
Be on the lookout for weekly suggestions and don’t forget to follow our trendsetters and download the app to stay up to date on all events in your area.
Have a great week!
